Premier League top goalscorer odds
Published:
We’re now just over half way through the season, so Ladbrokes takes you through its Premier League top goalscorer odds.
Joint-first in the race for the Golden Boot, after just 21 games, are Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, who are tied on 14 goals.
Haaland is fit and ready to return from injury, while Salah will miss vital games against BOTH Chelsea and Arsenal, giving the Norweigen an edge in the race.
Dominic Solanke, Heung-min Son and Jarrod Bowen aren’t far behind, but who will end up as the top scorer during the 2023/24 Premier League season? Join Ladbrokes as we look at the odds.
- Erling Haaland – 1/3 (14 goals)
- Mohamed Salah – 7/2 (14 goals)
- Heung-min Son – 12/1 (12 goals)
- Dominic Solanke – 20/1 (12 goals)
- Ollie Watkins – 28/1 (10 goals)
- Alexander Isak – 33/1 (10 goals)
- Jarrod Bwen – 40/1 (11 goals)
- Darwin Nunez – 66/1 (7 goals)
- Hwang-hee Chan – 66/1 (10 goals)
The front-runners are clearly Salah and Haaland, who lead the race right now, but putting a punt on Son or Solanke, who are only two goals behind right now, could end up being worth it.
How many goals will Erling Haaland score this season?
Haaland ended up scoring 36 goals in 35 games last season during his first campaign for Man City, shattering the goalscoring record in the process.
The former Dortmund man has been injured for the last few games, only playing 15 out of an available 20 matches in the Premier League. He’d have to score 22 goals in his next 18 games to break his tally last year, which could end up being challenging.
If he stays fit, and continues in the same goalscoring form as he was on this season before his injury, Haaland will end up with over 30 goals, which is still incredibly impressive.
How many goals will Mohamed Salah score this season?
Salah is tied with Haaland right now, scoring 14 goals in his first 20 games this campaign, but no one really knows when the winger is going to play next.
The Egyptain was injured whilst playing for his country at AFCON, with the hamstring issue being ‘worst than first feared’, in the words of his agent.
Salah is expected to be back towards the middle portion of February, which means he’ll be missing key games against Arsenal and Chelsea, and Liverpool fans will be hoping that after that, their star man is available for the remainder of the season.
If he were to play every game between now and end of the season, which he obviously won’t be able to, the stats from the first portion of the campaign suggest Salah would end up with over 25 goals, showing just how good he’s been for the Reds.
