Prepare to see Juventus superstar at Man City next season
Published:
Manchester City fans are still probably buzzing from the high they received at the start of February when they found out that Pep Guardiola was going to be their new manager come the start of next season.
The current Bayern Munich boss has 19 honours to his name during his managerial career, including two Champions Leagues, and City supporters have to be salivating at the thought of what he could bring to the Etihad.
Obviously, transfer rumours aplenty are circulating around the blue side of Manchester and one is now looking likely to happen.
Current Juventus ace Paul Pogba has revealed his admiration for the former Barcelona gaffer and his desire to learn under him.
Speaking to Sky ahead of his side’s clash with Bayern, the 22-year-old said: “He is a coach with a lot of experience and has a great game philosophy.
“Therefore, he always has a great influence on his team. All the players respect him.
“You only have to look at him and you want to learn from him. I’ve heard that he improves every player. He is a football icon.
“Right now I am still with Juventus, but clearly if you have the chance to work with someone like him, you can only develop further.”
Common sense has probably prevented the French midfielder severing all ties with his current employer, hence the mention of Juve, but his heart is clearly set on wanting to work with Pep.
Pogba would be a welcome addition to the City squad and would be the perfect replacement for the aging Yaya Toure.
The Juve man has three Serie A titles to his name, as well as a Champions League runners-up medal, and the transfer is sure to infuriate Manchester United fans after they let the talented star go.
Meanwhile, 32-year-old Toure has been well past his best this season, increasing speculation he is MLS-bound at its conclusion.
The Ivorian has only scored five Premier League goals this campaign, half as many as he managed in only five more games last season.
