Ladbrokes ranks the 10 best goalkeepers to have graced the Premier League since its inception in 1992.

England's top flight is known for its fast-paced, exciting style with some of iconic attacking players dominating the division over the years.

But goalkeepers are the unsung heroes, often producing those game-saving moments that can be the difference between your team winning and losing.

The likes of Alisson Becker, Ederson, David Raya and Emiliano Martinez are the current top stoppers but who are the best the competition has seen? Ladbrokes ranks the 10 best keepers.

10. Joe Hart

Joe Hart was instrumental in Manchester City's early rise to becoming the formidable outfit they are today.

His sharp reflexes and vocal presence were crucial in City, who will be hoping to add more silverware at the Club World Cup this summer, lifting the title in both 2012 and 2014, making the £600,000 fee they paid to sign him from Shrewsbury a huge bargain.

9. Brad Friedel

Enjoying extraordinary longevity in the Premier League, Brad Friedel holds the record for the most consecutive top-flight appearances after playing 350 straight games across spells at Blackburn, Aston Villa and Tottenham spanning from 2004 to 2012.

The American was always a safe pair of hands at the back, allowing him to enjoy a near two-decade spell in the competition.

8. Jens Lehmann

Best known for his role between the sticks during Arsenal's 'Invincibles' season in 2003-04.

An eccentric character who expertly led the Gunners backline, Lehmann spent five years in the Premier League between 2003 and 2008 before briefly returning to North London in 2011.

7. Ederson

The first current goalkeeper on this list, Ederson has been one of the key drivers of the shift to goalkeepers becoming true ball-players since arriving at City in 2017.

The Brazilian is probably good enough with his feet to play outfield with his passing, long or short, a key reason for City's dominance under Pep Guardiola but do not underestimate his shot-stopping ability either.

Ederson looks set to be one of several City stars who will depart this summer but the six-time title winner's status as one of the best the league has seen is definitely already secured.

6. David de Gea

Another modern great, David De Gea made over 500 appearances for Manchester United, often standing out as their best performer even if the team were not performing well as a whole.

The Spanish goalkeeper won the Red Devils' Player of the Year award for three consecutive seasons between 2013 and 2016 and their struggles between the sticks since his departure in 2023 perhaps proves just how influential the now-Fiorentina stopper was at Old Trafford.

5. Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker is arguably the world's best goalkeeper right now undoubtedly one of the league's best ever for his time with Liverpool.

Having just helped the Reds win the Premier League, the Brazilian is set to continue proving a key figure at Anfield if they are to defend their crown under Arne Slot next season.

4. David Seaman

David Seaman was the one of the elite stoppers of the 90s and early 2000s, best know for his time with Arsenal.

During that 13-year spell in North London, Seaman won three league titles, including two in the Premier League, and his highlight reel is littered with numerous stunning saves.

3. Edwin van der Sar

Another eccentric character, few can match Edwin van der Sar's legacy, impressing at Fulham before becoming one of the league's greatest at Man Utd.

The Dutch goalkeeper holds the record for the most consecutive clean sheets, with 14 in the 2008/09 season - lasting 1311 minutes without letting a goal past him.

2. Peter Schmeichel

Peter Schmeichel is unfortunate not to top this list after his fearless and intimidating displays the United net.

The 'Great Dane' was comfortably one of the world's best goalkeepers in the 90s, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League during a dominant era under Sir Alex Ferguson.

1. Petr Cech

Petr Cech is the man to edge Schmeichel out after a superb spell in the Premier League, mostly with Chelsea but later Arsenal.

The Czech stopper holds the record for most clean sheets with 202, putting in countless consistent displays as he won four Premier League titles.
