Rory McIlroy odds: Can the Masters winner win all four Majors this year?
Published:
After finally completing the Grand Slam by winning the Masters, Ladbrokes runs through the odds for Rory McIlroy to add more Majors titles to his collection in 2025.
Fourteen years of near-misses, heartbreaks and implosions at Augusta are finally over as McIlroy finally has his hands on the Green Jacket and the last Major title - 11 years after winning the fourth of his career at the PGA Championship in 2014.
With that demon that haunted him for so long now exorcised, the 35-year-old, who is the early favourite to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, has now set his sights on winning more titles this year.
"Getting the Masters, the career Grand Slam, the fifth major, getting all that out of the way. I think it will allow me to play with a lot more freedom," the Northern Irishman told BBC Sport. I really do think it's going to free me up. It's been a long time coming."
With McIlroy in tip top form ahead of three more Majors in 2025, here are the odds for the Grand Slam winner to win more titles this year.
Rory McIlroy 2025 odds
McIlroy has of course become only the sixth player ever to complete the set of Majors titles, having added The Masters to his Open, PGA Championship and US Open titles.
But could he now do what none of those previous five managed to do and win all four in the same year?
Ladbrokes are offering customers the chance to bet on how many Major titles the Holywood sensation will end the year with.
Next up in the 2025 Major calendar is the PGA Championship, a competition McIlroy has won on two occasions in 2012 and 2014.
He is currently the joint favourite alongside Scottie Scheffler to win it for the third time in May at Quail Hollow.
The final Major of the golf calendar is back across the pond at the US Open, which will be held at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania on June 12-15.
This is the only Major this year where McIlroy is not the favourite, with Scheffler, who was expected to be McIlroy main rival at The Masters but finished fourth, currently fancied by the bookies.
The final Major of the 2025 calendar is perhaps, aside from The Masters, the one McIlroy will want the most as he returns to his native country for The Open at Portrush in July and he has already set his sights on succeeding Shane Lowry's 2019 title won on the same course.
"I can't wait to go back to Portrush in July with this [the Masters title] in tow," he said. Shane's defence at Portrush is going to be amazing this year and hopefully I'll have something to say about that as well."
Scheffler is again thought to be his main challenger at Portrush but McIlroy is the current favourite, with Xander Shauffele, John Rahm and Ludwig Aberg also contenders.
Ryder Cup 2025 odds
A historic year could get even better for McIlroy if he can play his part in victory for Europe in the Ryder Cup in September, which is being held at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.
It was a superb Masters for European golfers in particular, with Justin Rose running McIlroy mightily close in a nail-biting play-off and completing an all-European top two, while Swede Ludwig Aberg ended up seventh on -7.
Despite that, the bookies still make Team USA the favourites to wrestle back the title on home soil.
