Royal Ascot’s five-day festival of flat racing draws to a close on Saturday afternoon with the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
Clive Cox’s super sprinter Harry Angel will likely go off as favourite for the feature, but can he deal with an unenviable losing record at the Berkshire course?

Redkirk Warrior’s story is a remarkable one. The horse has had owners in Britain, Hong Kong and Australia and was briefly retired in 2016 following a chronic hoof problem.
A top-class farriar down under saw the raider’s potential, however. And after some reshaping work to the son of Notnowcato’s hoof, he’s returned to the track in style.
The seven-year-old has been transformed from a middle distance runner into a top-class sprinter and comes into this off the back of a two-timer in Group 1 company.
He goes best after a good break, and with 105 days since his last run at Flemington, he looks primed to tackle the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot.
Main contender Harry Angel is winless in four in this part of the world. So it’s down to the Aussie Warrior to capitalise over 6f on Saturday.
Our pick in the Listed Chesham Stakes is all about trends. More specifically, how they match up to September, who won this last year for Aidan O’Brien.
Both raiders triumphed in the Prix Des Hortensias and Prix Du Puycharic across the channel before tackling this 7f Listed contest at Royal Ascot.
That sort of pattern – and general form – is difficult to ignore, especially when the selection has yet to get the benefit of good-to-firm ground. This is a tougher task, but the signs are he’ll appreciate the extra furlong and should be a player on each-way terms.
The 5f Wokingham Stakes is one of the hottest betting events of the meeting. So we’re plumping for something with a little bit of value to round things off.
