Sanders vows to fight, but it’s Clinton versus Trump in November

Hillary Clinton all but claimed the Democratic nominee in the final batch of US Presidential Primaries last night, and is set for a battle with Republican Donald Trump in the race to the White House.
Clinton secured victory in New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota last night, and despite Bernie Sanders taking Montana and North Dakota, the former Secretary of State has now reached the number of delegates required to win the Democrat nomination.
California, offering hundreds of delegates, handed Clinton her biggest win, with 257 to 188 for Sanders.
The Vermont Senator isn’t throwing in the towel, resting his hopes on swaying the Superdelegates in next month’s Convention, but it’s thought Sanders is unlikely to succeed.
The Democratic race isn’t technically over and done with, with the District of Columbia to vote on Tuesday, but its impact is now quite negligible.
Trump meanwhile swept to wins in all five states which took part in the Republican vote last night, and barring any surprises at July’s Convention, will be running for the White House.
Odds of 9/4 reflect the incredible impact the real estate mogul has caused Stateside, having been rated a no-hoper at 150/1 last summer.
Clinton is favourite to claim November’s election at 4/11, while odds of 10/1 on anyone other than the leading pair succeeding Obama highlight how clear a two-horse race this is, and actually has been for several months.
