Churchill Tyres Handicap - 2.42 - Dark Thirty
Dark Thirty has started the year off very well, winning in Doncaster. He's also won over seven-furlongs at York, so he's got no problem with the track, and he seems in very good form since Newmarket, which didn't really suit him. He hasn't got the best draw in three, but that said, he's very straight forward in that he goes forward over six furlongs anyway. I'd imagine he'll run a good race at a good price here.
Conundrum HR Consulting Handicap - 4.18 - Best Rate
Best Rate won very well in Wolverhampton at the end of last year, and he then went on to get gelded. He seemed to have needed his first run, and then he ran really well in a competitive race at Newmarket last time out. I've just seen him going up the gallops this morning and he looks absolutely great; he looks like he's taken a step forward from his last run. He's got the right attributes for York over that trip
The only downside for him is that he's ended up in stall 11, which is a difficult stall to compete out of over that trip.
Stuey Weston & Friends Getting Out Handicap - 5.25 - Great Bedwyn
Great Bedwyn is probably my best chance of the day. He finished last year off with a solid run at Southwell, finishing second. He's an older horse, and the trip is perfect for him here because he stays a little bit further. He's got a lovely draw in five, and the track should be perfect for him. he's very straight-forward... all of that put together, and I'd have to say he's my best chance.

Tattersalls Musidora Stakes - 3.45 (& Duke Of York Clipper Stakes)
This is a really interesting race and I'm looking forward to seeing Ralph Beckett's Smoken here - I thought she was a very nice filly last year, and she's got some big entries in the Epsom Oaks and the Irish Oaks.
At the moment, Aidan [O'Brien] definitely has a tight grip on the Derby with the colts, but there is a window of opportunity in the Oaks, so it'll be interesting to see how Smoken gets on in that race.
I'm also really interested to see Inisherin back in action, and Night Raider, who went back to sprinting and was very impressive in his last two runs at Kempton and Newcastle. Both those horses have similar riding styles, so it's going to be interesting to see how they both get on in the Duke Of York Clipper Stakes.
