I'm disappointed with my Royal Ascot, but there's no time to beat myself up...

It's been a good week for us off the back of Ascot - we've had a few winners and our horses are running well. We're in a good place. Obviously I'm disappointed with last week at Ascot - our horses ran really well but we just happened to lack a bit of luck. Look, that's the nature of the game, and we've got to move on. There's a lot of positives to take from the week, and hopefully they serve us well going forward. You don't have time to beat yourself up about these things because you're constantly going again; there's always another race.

The first race, on the first day of Ascot... those were the cards we got dealt, and we immediately had to move on and look ahead to the next one.

New Ladbrokes Offer

1.40 - JenningsBet 200 Shops Nationwide Handicap - Aramram

Aramram is having a quick run after Ascot, taking an opportunity having only just run at Ascot. You'd be hoping he's reserved some of his ability since then, and if so, then he can be very competitive here. He's a very good horse, and I can see the thinking in taking him to Newcastle because it's a track that will suit a speedy horse like him. He's been beaten on the all-weather, but only by short margins which would suggest he can handle the all-weather very well. If he's come out of Ascot nicely, then I think Aramram is my best chance.

3.15 - Northumberland Plate Handicap - Asgard's Captain

Dylan Cunha - I think - is an up-and-coming trainer; he does very well with these types of horses. Asgard's Captain is in very good form and he loves this track. He ran well and was very unlucky at Epsom last time, and he deserves to take his opportunity in this race. I can see him running very well, but it is the Northumberland Plate, so he'll definitely need a bit of luck there.

3.45 - Pertemps Network Handicap - Talis Evolvere

Talis Evolvere actually ran well at Ascot last week, I thought. Things weren't happening, though, and I was easy on him. He has good form on this track, and the trip is perfect. He's drawn well here, too, so I'm hopeful he can put in a good performance here.
