Simon fav for Strictly exit; new leader in battle for Glitterball

Strictly Come Dancing could be saying goodbye to Simon Rimmer this weekend, with the TV Chef 11/8 favourite to be the fourth person eliminated from the show.

He’s followed in the betting by comedian Brian Conley, with the Time After Time star 2/1 to be the next contestant booted out.

As far as our traders are concerned, it’s likely to be a two-horse race for safety this weekend. However, Ruth Langsford (5/1) and Susan Calman (8/1) are plausible outsiders for the chop.

In the betting for ballroom glory, Alexandra Burke is the new favourite to win this year’s Glitterball at 9/4.

The former X-Factor winner has replaced Aston Merrygold at the head of the betting, with the JLS man’s odds drifting out to 5/2.

TV presenter Ruth Langsford follows at 5/1, with Susan priced up at 8s and Davood Ghadami a 10/1 shot.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “He’s been there or thereabouts since the show began, but the latest odds suggest it could be curtains for Simon this week while money continues to come in for Alexandra, forcing us to slash odds of her winning.”
