SNP slashed for majority in May election

The Scottish National Party’s odds of securing the most seats in the May parliamentary election have been slashed by Ladbrokes.

Political punters’ confidence in the party has resulted in the bookmaker cutting the odds of an SNP majority to 3/1 (from 11/2).

In response Labour are pushed to 1/5 from 1/12 with both the Conservatives and Lib Dems seemingly out of the running at 100/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve seen decent money from the right people for an SNP majority and have shortened their price accordingly. Labour remain the hot favourites but it’s now much closer in what appears a two horse race.”
