Serbian record breaker on brink of leaving West Ham for Motherwell

Motherwell look to be on the verge of securing a hugely exciting deal for West Ham United winger Luka Belic, with Slaven Bilic happy to send the talented Serbian out on loan.

After bursting onto the scene as the youngest ever player in the Serbian top-flight aged 16 back in April 2012, the Pancevo native has continued to impress, making a smattering of appearances for capital club OFK Beograd before last summer’s move to east London.

Having made an instant impact in the Hammers’ Under 23 side last season with a debut masterclass against Newcastle, Well boss Mark McGhee believes the 20-year-old is ready for regular senior football, and it’s just 1/8 he heads to Fir Park tonight.

The North Lanarkshire side have experienced a mixed start to the Ladbrokes Premiership campaign with four points in as many games.

However, the injection of a raw, dynamic talent like Belic alongside seasoned campaigners like Scott McDonald and James McFadden could well catapult the Steelmen up the table.

Next up for Motherwell is a trip to Ross County, with McGhee’s side 13/5 to record a fourth win in six visits to Dingwall.

And those fancying a repeat scoreline of the last meeting at Global Energy Stadium – 3-1 to Motherwell – can back that at the juicy price of 28/1.

Who knows, we could well see a Serbian star announce himself for the visitors in the Highlands.
