2025 Sports Personality of the Year odds

Now we're almost halfway through the year, Ladbrokes looks at the 2025 Sports Personality of the Year odds, with Rory McIlroy the current favourite.

Off the back of completing the Career Grand Slam by winning the Masters, Rory McIlroy has become the front-runner for this year's award ahead of darts sensation Luke Littler.

After coming second last year, losing out to Keely Hodgkinson, Littler is deemed by the bookies to have an excellent chance of winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in December 2025, but will have to compete with McIlroy in what has now become a historic year for golf.

Littler's chances have been helped by the fact that he won the PDC World Darts Championship final in January, with the teenager becoming the youngest winner of the tournament in history and continuing to dominate his sport.

Also in the top six with odds of 20/1 or shorter are F1 driver Lando Norris and tennis player Jack Draper, as well as Ellie Kildunne and Ronnie O'Sullivan.

However, it's McIlroy who now leads the way, and his chances of winning SPOTY have only been helped by the fact that he won the Masters via a play-off hole in April.

Harvey Watkins of Ladbrokes: "After an incredible last 12 months, and having won the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, the bookies initially tipped Luke Littler for Sports Personality of the Year this year, but Rory McIlroy's Major victory has made things very interesting."

Below are all the names running to win this year's Sports Personality of the Year with odds of 25/1 or shorter, with McIlroy leading the pack.

A lot could change between now and the SPOTY awards ceremony in December though, as odds for the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Leah Williamson could look very different when the seasons come to an end.
