What sports stars and celebrities are saying about Election 2015
Published:
With the polling stations now closed it’s time for the real business to begin. Millions of lovely votes need to be counted (possibly re-counted) before we can find out the outcome of the UK Election.
So, in the meantime let’s take some time out to reflect on the important events of May 7.
Or have a quick trawl through Twitter to see what a few D-list celebrities and high-profile sporting figures were saying as the day unfolded…
Joey Essex
Finally, after going to the wrong polling stations… I found my polling station and VOTED! … Have you? pic.twitter.com/uy6lRxGovb

There are no words to explain this man. He’s a complete parody of himself, right?
Katie Hopkins
Bloody hell. my husband voted Labour in the hope I leave the country. Little sod @TheSunNewspaper — Katie Hopkins (@KTHopkins) May 7, 2015
Her husband could’ve been a national hero. But not if the Exit Poll is to be believed.
Joey Barton
Just been and voted and there was a rather large queue. Suppose that’s a good thing, right?
— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) May 7, 2015
Yeah, it’s pretty good Joey. #IVoted.
Michael Vaughan
Who you all voting for!? RT Tories FAV Labour. !? — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) May 7, 2015
The cricket supremo left us in doubt as to his followers’ political convictions.
Gary Lineker
Just cast my vote. Hope you have too. Can’t really moan if you don’t. And we love moaning.
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) May 7, 2015
Gary taps into Britain’s national pasttime.
I’ll keep who I vote for to myself, but I doubt I’ll be influenced by the manner in which someone eats a bloody sandwich. — Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) May 6, 2015
OK, this was from yesterday but most of us can surely applaud the sentiment. No? We might fall out.
Brian Moore
Vote today for whichever party you want, but vote or don’t whinge about things later.
— Brian Moore (@brianmoore666) May 7, 2015
Ex-England rugby legend Moore had obviously been speaking to Gary before making this soundbite.
If he told you to vote you’d do it.
