Spurs move for Man United’s sulking star closer after comments

They’ll all have to form an orderly queue behind Tottenham though, who will be in the market for a nippy finisher having lost their chief hero in that role, Jermain Defoe, to the glittering lights of Toronto FC.
With Defoe now gone, it leaves Spurs with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado as their only two senior striking options.
Should Tim Sherwood successfully steer the Tottenham ship into the top four this term, something he’s 5/1 to do, then he’ll need at least one more frontline goal-getter in order to share the load with the Togolese and Spaniard.
With Soldado struggling to make an impact in his debut season in England too, buying a player well-versed in English football will surely appeal to the White Hart Lane deal-makers.
