Xabi Alonso may be the clear favourite, but the bookies say that Steven Gerrard is the most popular pick with Ladbrokes punters to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.
With the German boss off at the end of the season, the bookies have revealed a whopping one in five punters have backed the former Liverpool skipper to return in the dugout. Elsewhere, 18% of punters favour 1/2 favourite, Xabi Alonso, while Roberto De Zerbi makes up the popularity podium spots at 13.6%.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The odds suggest the Liverpool job is very much Xabi Alonso’s, but plenty of punters are backing the ultimate Anfield reunion for Steven Gerrard.”
