Strictly Come Dancing: Holly faces a tough time after Artem injury
Published:Strictly Come Dancing’s Artem Chigvintsev has fractured his spine – dealing a huge blow to Holly Valance’s chances of winning the show.
The injury – that was previously diagnosed as a muscle strain – means the dancer is struggling to be fit for the remainder of the series and looks likely to miss Saturday’s show.
Artem jived through the pain on Saturday as he and Holly claimed second spot on the night with 34 points.
However, with the injury far more severe than first thought, continuing to dance will remain painful for Artem – despite medical advice that the fracture is completely stable.
Holly is currently training with former Strictly Come Dancing winner Brendan Cole who was booted off the show on Saturday with partner Lulu.
Holly is currently out at 8/1 to win the competition but this latest development could make things far more complicated for the former Neighbours star.
On the other hand, much will depend on her performance this Saturday and a good performance could help the Aussie garner more public sympathy and make that 8/1 look like a brilliant price.
Meanwhile, favourite Harry Judd has attempted to add a bit of spice to his relationship with partner Aliona Vilani by telling of how his girlfriend was “freaked out” by his raunchy tango last week.
Romance rumours haven’t done past couples any harm but Harry may be wise to keep quiet and let his dancing speak for itself.
If Harry keeps improving the way he has been, then backing him to triumph at 15/8 could prove a rather lucrative bet.
