Super League: Catalans have class to pass tough St Helens test

In-form Catalans Dragons face a real test of their title credentials when they travel to St Helens tonight.
Laurent Frayssinous’ men sit in second spot in the Super League table, two points behind leaders Warrington after a run of five consecutive wins and are 11/8 to extend that sequence tonight.
St Helens (favourites at 8/13 for the win) on the other hand, are yet to find any real consistency, but only trail their opponents by two points in the league table and will be buoyed no end by an impressive 25-22 win over the table-topping Wolves last Friday.
Catalans’ Achilles heel in recent years has been their away form, exemplified by a woeful return of just two wins on the road throughout 2015. They seem to have got over their travelling troubles this season though, already recording four wins away from the Stade Gilbert Brutus and tonight’s clash against Saints represents the perfect litmus test of their Grand Final credentials.
The Dragons are boosted by the return of their talismanic half-back Todd Carney, as well as captain Remi Casty and Justin Horo, but are without Eloi Pelissier, who misses out through suspension.
St Helens are missing a number of men through long-term injuries, with youngsters Jake Spedding, Morgan Knowles and Jack Ashworth all named in their 19-man squad.
It is the signing of experienced Super League and NRL stars that have helped Catalans progress this season, and they were exceptional in their 40-0 demolition of Hull KR last week. They are 5/1 to win by more than 10 points tonight, an attractive price for a side who are capable of racking up the points.
Wingman Jodie Broughton has flourished since making the move to Perpignan from Huddersfield, scoring seven tries in eight games. He crossed for a brace against Rovers and can be backed at 11/2 to do the same again tonight.
