Murray ready for final set shoot-out with Viktor Troicki

Punters are in for a real treat at 1pm today when Andy Murray and Viktor Troicki take to the courts of Roland Garros to complete their fourth round match.

In what is effectively now a one-set shootout, it’s a surprise to see the injured Murray a solid 1/3 favourite to win the tie.

Should Murray be fully fit then the this set should prove no problem for the world number four, but the fact that he has a damaged ankle makes this match a lot closer than the betting suggests.

Troicki is 9/4 to progress to the quarter-final today and the Serb holds all the value considering this comes down to who can establish the break of serve.

A notorious slow-starter, Murray will have to face Troicki’s serve before his first service game of the set and Murray will be playing catch-up in this final set.

Troicki is 7/1 to win the final set 6-3 while Murray is favoured to take the final set 6-4 at 3/1.

Murray was tested constantly yesterday by Troicki’s continued use of the drop shot and the Scot’s ankle seemed to be holding up.

But it remains to be seen just how Murray’s ankle has been affected by the four sets he played yesterday and it would be no surprise to see Murray struggle early on once again.

It took Murray two sets yesterday before finding his game and Troicki will be looking to dominate and get on top early and the smart money would be on backing the Serb to do just that.

Murray faces a real battle to stay in the French Open and even if he was to prevail over Troicki today, the troublesome injury is likely to hamper Murray’s chances of a first French Open title, especially with a potential semi-final against Rafeal Nadal.
