The Safety Net – Top-seed Almagro to reach round three in Gstaad
Published:Although there are 34 Europa League qualifying matches taking place tonight with some likely bankers in the draw, we are turning our attentions to tennis for today’s safety net bet.
Copenhagen won 1-0 against Shamrock Rovers in their Champions League qualifier yesterday, giving us our third successful football prediction in succession.
This latest win was enough to increase the safety net’s bank balance to £391.50 and now we rely on Nicolas Almagro to carry us beyond the £400 mark in his second round clash with Jarkko Nieminen in the Credit Agricole Suisse Open.
Almagro is the top seed for the ATP Tour event in Gstaad, Switzerland and will have high hopes after winning the tournament last year.
The Spaniard’s recent form is also good, as he reached the final of the German Open, another clay-court event, in Hamburg last week, where he lost to Gilles Simon.
His top seeding in Gstaad also ensured he received a bye in the opening round, giving him a little extra time to recover from last week’s exploits.
Nieminen has met Almagro four times, but his only win was in their first meeting back in 2005, with Almagro winning the latest meeting which was as recently as Wimbledon last month.
Furthermore, the Finn has only played sparingly on clay this season, failing to advance beyond the third round in any tournament on the surface.
Almagro is 1/4 in the tennis odds to beat Nieminen and we will be staking £80 on this result in order to fulfil our aim of making £20 each day.

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
