Tottenham to use Gallas to lure Chelsea star to White Hart Lane

William Gallas knows all about making the transition from rival to fans favourite and Harry Redknapp is hoping Didier Drogba will follow suit.

In a season in which Tottenham Hotspur’s front three strikers have managed just 12 league goals between them, Redknapp knows he must strengthen his attack if Spurs are to challenge at the top of the league next season.

Spurs are 33/1 to win next season’s Premier League title but Redknapp’s side also earn a quote of 11/4 to finish in the top four and this will be the main target next season.

Redknapp hopes Drogba will be at White Hart Lane to help Spurs achieve this next season and the Tottenham manager is hoping William Galls will play a key role in tempting Drogba across London.

Since the arrival of Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge, Didier Drogba’s Chelsea future has hung in the balance with Marseille the favourites to land their former striker in the summer.

But Redknapp is hoping to keep Drogba in the Premier League should he decide to leave Chelsea and the striker would be a wonderful addition to the Tottenham squad.

Jermain Defoe has hinted at a potential exit in the summer following a season in which he made just a handful of starts for Spurs, but should Redknapp land Drogba as a replacement the Spurs fans would forget Defoe in a hurry.

Ideally Redknapp would love to keep Defoe on the Tottenham books as he prepares his side for a season in which the target is to regain a place in the Champions League, but keeping Defoe, Drogba, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko happy could prove tricky.
