Tottenham v Norwich betting tips and odds

Two new managers put their unbeaten Premier League starts on the line on Sunday with very different ambitions for the rest of the season.

Antonio Conte masterminded a 2-0 victory over Brentford as Spurs rose to sixth in the table, a couple of points shy of fourth-placed West Ham, while Dean Smith made it three games without losing in a 1-1 draw at 10-man Newcastle during the week.

Spurs are clear 2/5 favourites to beat relegation-haunted City but there are plenty of other options we can use in our Tottenham v Norwich betting tips.

Match Odds

Conte admitted Tottenham “have a lot of space for improvement in possession” following Thursday’s win against the Bees during which Harry Kane fired blanks once again.

The England captain had the chance to double his Premier League tally for the season when he was sent clear by Oliver Skipp but he shot straight at keeper Alvaro Fernandez.

Spurs have won their last two matches by under 3.5 goals and that option is available at 21/20 but they have only conceded once in their three top-flight matches under the Italian so we go 6/5 on the hosts winning to nil.

The Canaries have netted three times in as many games during Smith’s brief spell in charge but they have still not reached double figures from 14 matches, so goals are clearly a problem for them.

With that in mind, the hosts can be backed at 15/8 to win either half, score at least twice and keep a clean sheet as one of our Tottenham v Norwich betting tips.

Spurs took a 12th-minute lead against Brentford and have been boosted from 10/3 to 4/1 to be leading after a quarter of an hour against Norwich which has been the case in three of their matches this season.

Talking Tactics

Conte went with a 3-4-2-1 on Thursday night with Kane up top supported by goalscorer Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura.

Skipp impressed in the heart of midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon on the flanks but Cristian Romero is out until the New Year with a hamstring injury.

Smith lined City up in a 4-1-4-1 formation at St James’ Park where Teemu Pukki led the line and Lukas Rupp anchored the midfield behind Billy Gilmour and fellow Scot Kenny McLean.

Mathias Normann is out with a pelvic injury which will be examined by a specialist but the Norwegian is expected to return for next week’s visit of Manchester United while Milot Rashica is out for up to four weeks with a groin problem.

Goalscorer Odds

Despite Kane misfiring in front of goal, the striker is 12/5 to break the deadlock or 3/4 just to score while Son is 14/5 and evens in the equivalent markets.

Moura has yet to score in the Premier League this season but he went close to ending his drought against the Bees and is 6/1 to draw first blood or 9/4 to find the net as one of our Tottenham v Norwich betting tips.

Only the face of Fernandez prevented Hojbjerg from scoring his third of the season, so we go 12/1 and 9/2 on the Denmark midfielder with the two options.

Pukki is 13/2 to draw first blood from the Norwich contingent or 12/5 to breach Spurs’ defence having netted five of his team’s eight goals this season, including a brilliant volley to earn his side a point at Newcastle.
