Bookies could be facing record-breaking payouts ifIceland win Eurovision this year.

The Nordic island came closest over ten years ago with asecond placed finish in 2009.

But after a flurry of bets on Daði& Gagnamagnið with their viral pop hit ‘Think About Things’ it couldbe about to change.

So much so that we’ve had to slash odds on Iceland to win from25/1 to just 7/2 in the last month. This suggests 39% of all bets favourIceland to be crowned champions.

This would be an amazing turnaround for the country whofailed to even qualify for the finals in three out of the last four years.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “We haven’t seen this much interest in Iceland sinceKerry Katona and Jason Donovan were dancing around the buffet table. But wecould be looking at record-breaking payouts in the next few months if punterscontinue to back the clear Eurovision favourites.”

Elsewhere, the UK remain 33/1 outsiders for the crown, with 5/1 on offer for James Newman’s ‘My Last Breath’ to finish rock bottom.
