It’s an odds-on shot that the next series of Strictly Come Dancing will introduce its first ever same-sex couple, according to our traders.

The hit BBC show is set to air later this year and we now make it just a 1/6 shot that the show makes it’s own piece of history.

The latest reports suggest that Strictly will follow the lead set by ITV’s Dancing on Ice last year when Ian “H” Watkins was paired with pro-skated Matt Evers to become the first ever same-sex dancing partners.

This year’s Strictly line-up is still to be revealed, but judging by the latest betting markets there are a bunch of big-name celebrities mooted for the next series to compete for the infamous Glitterball Trophy.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The next series of Strictly is nailed on to boast a same-sex couple if the latest odds are anything to go by with BBC chiefs looking to make history.”
