UFC 249 Ferguson v Gaethje: When is it? Where is it? Who is the favourite?

| 08.05.2020

After being postponed earlier this month, UFC 249 will make its comeback behind closed doors with both 249 and UFC 250 fight cards combining for a mega night of MMA.

Khabib Nurmagomedov awaits the winner as Tony Ferguson takes on Justin Gaethje for the lightweight interim title and we’ve sorted you out with everything you need to know…

When is UFC 249?

Originally set for April 18th, UFC president Dana White has rescheduled for Sunday 10th May from 3:00 AM BST.

The card will also feature fights that were due for UFC 250 originally set for Sao Paulo in Brazil. But this new event sees both cards combined for one bumper show.

Where and how to watch it?

You can watch all the action from the Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville Florida live on BT Sport.  The prelims begin at midnight before the main event at 3:00 AM.

Who is favourite to win?

Former World Series of Fighting 155-pound titleholder Gaethje is at3/2 to take the victory in what White calls one of the ‘most violent fights you will see,’.

But Ferguson, who was due to fight Khabib originally, will want his chance at the lightweight champ and is the 8/15 favourite to come out on top.

Gaethje to win by KO is 7/4, with his opponent at 5/1 to take it by Decision. The fight ending in a draw is50/1 which may mean Khabib will have to wait.

Who is fighting on the card?

Here’s how UFC 249 main card is set to go down:

Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje (interim UFC Lightweight Championship)

Henry Cejudo vs Dominick Cruz (UFC Bantamweight Championship)

Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik (heavyweight)

Jeremy Stephens vs Calvin Kattar (featherweight)
