Ukraine v North Macedonia betting tips: High-scoring game on cards
Published:
Both teams started their Euro 2020 Group C campaigns with defeats so the pressure is on to deliver a win in Bucharest.
Debutants North Macedonia, 24/5 to beat Ukraine, threatened to cause an upset against Austria when 37-year-old striker Goran Pandev capitalised on a chaotic few moments in the back line to equalise in the first half but two goals in the final 12 minutes consigned them to a 3-1 defeat.
An open game is expected in the Romanian capital as we pick out some of the markets and odds in our Ukraine v North Macedonia betting tips.
Match Odds
Ukraine, 8/13 to get their first points on the board, fought back from two goals down against Netherlands but succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
The eastern Europeans looked dead and buried trailing 2-0 at half-time but a wonder goal from Andriy Yarmolenko got them back into the game and four minutes later Roman Yaremchuk equalised with a header only for Denzel Dumfries to break their hearts.
Both teams have scored in five of Ukraine’s last seven games and are available at 21/20 to repeat that scenario or 29/10 to win and concede.

Four of those matches finished 1-1 which is 6/1 while a score draw is available at 4/1, although North Macedonia to produce a win and concede as they did against Germany recently is 10/1.
Most goals have been scored in the second half in five of North Macedonia’s last six games and with both teams needing to win that option is 19/20 while both teams to score before the break is 9/2.
Both teams to score and over 3.5 goals, which was the case in both of their opening games, can be backed at 10/3.
Talking Tactics
Ukraine coach Andriy Shevchenko started with a 4-3-3 formation against Netherlands with Yarmolenko and Oleksandr Zubkov playing either side of Yaremchuk up front and Manchester City full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko deployed on the left side of midfield.
North Macedonia went with a 5-3-2 against Austria, with Leeds defender Ezgjan Alioski operating at left-back behind star player Elif Elmas.
Goalscorer Odds
Yaremchuk impressed up front for Ukraine and the Gent striker is co-favourite with Yarmolenko at 7/2 to break the deadlock against North Macedonia or 9/5 to get on the scoresheet.
Ruslan Malinovskyi had a decent game on the right side of midfield as did Zinchecnko on the opposite flank and they are both 4/1 to find the net.
Ukraine conceded seven shots in the opening quarter of an hour, so their defence could be vulnerable and we go 9/1 on Pandev to get the ball rolling in what could be a high-scoring game.
Boban Nikolov was denied by Austria keeper Daniel Bachmann and the wing-back is available at 11/1 to get on the scoresheet.
