US Open Accumulator: Roddick and Isner lead home charge

Published:

A mix of first and second round action in both the men’s and women’s draws takes place on the third day of the US Open and it seems a day where upsets look few and far between.

Therefore, we have struggled to find any outstanding prices for our US Open bet, although some solid looking favourites are almost impossible to oppose.

In total we have made 11 winning selections today and if they are all successful it pays 50/1.

Leading the way in the men’s draw are fancied home duo Andy Roddick and John Isner, with the former taking on fellow American Michael Russell in what could be described as a clash between two veterans.

Russell has a chance if the game stays on the baseline, but even though Roddick has played little tennis this summer, his serve will be too much of a potent weapon.

Isner has a tougher task against Marcos Baghdatis, although he did win when the pair clashed last week at the Winston-Salem event in North Carolina.

Our big upset prediction is Philipp Petzschner to beat Janko Tipsarevic, with the German certainly having the power and big-hitting nature to cause problems and he pushed Jo Wilfried Tsonga to five sets in the opening hard-court grand slam of the year at the Australian Open.
