USA v England tips: Can hosts get their first Hockey World Cup win?

The 2018 Women’s Hockey World Cup hasn’t wasted any time in producing its share of sporting drama.
Both England and the United States suffered surprise results in their opening games, which really ups the ante ahead of their meeting in Stratford.
Opening game surprises
The hosts were held 1-1 by an India side they had thrashed 6-0 in the Commonwealth Games Bronze medal match just three months ago in Australia.
And the USA were beaten 3-1 by a spirited Ireland side despite being ranked nine places above the Emerald Isle.
The results have thrown Group B wide open. And the pressure is on for both England and the USA.
England match odds
Danny Kerry’s hosts go into their second match as 2/5 favourites, with the Americans the 9/2 outsiders.
The two sides will be particularly desperate to avoid defeat, which points us towards the draw at 4/1.
After a sluggish start against India, England dominated the match, particularly in the second half.
They had a hatful of chances, which on another day may have gone in en route to a comfortable win. If they can be more clinical this time around then they should come out on top.
America prevailed 2-1 when the two sides met in the 2014 World Cup, but England got their own back with a 2-1 win of their own en route to Gold in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
