Viktor Gyokeres next club odds: Huge market shift

Ladbrokes has released odds on Viktor Gyokeres' next club, and there's been a huge shift in the market.

Gyokeres is now odds-on with Ladbrokes to be a Manchester United player by the end of the summer transfer window.

The Sporting striker was 3/1 to head to Old Trafford on June 6, but fast forward to June 6, the bookies are giving suggest the chances are over 70% that Gyokeres reunites with former boss Ruben Amorim.

Arsenal, 6/1 to sign the Swede, were the odds-on favourites for his signature as recently as 1 June, but the odds suggest their top target is now Benjamin Sesko, who is also odds-on to head to north London this summer.

Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Having looked to be heading to Arsenal at one stage, the odds now suggest that Viktor Gyokeres could be the man Ruben Amorim wants to solve his side’s chronic goalscoring issue.

In terms of teams that Gyokeres is suited most too, Atletico Madrid probably comes to mind, but the bookies have priced a move for the Swede to Diego Simeone's side at 8/1.

Priced longer than the La Liga team share when it comes to Gyokeres' next destination are Liverpool, but it seems like the Reds are prioritising other positions this summer after winning the Premier League in Arne Slot's first season.

Liverpool are the favourites to sign Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, so the bookies seem to think that strengthening the backline is more likely for the Reds than adding firepower to their attack.

Gyokeres is a top striker potentially joining the Premier League, but one who could be on his way out of England's top-flight is Jamie Vardy.

Vardy is set to leave Leicester at the end of the season, and the race is very much open when it comes to the most likely destination for the Premier League legend.

Even if the Sporting Lisbon man moves this year, there's a chance he isn't the most expensive Swedish striker joining a Premier League club, with Liverpool viewed as the favourites to sign Alexander Isak, with Gyokeres' compatriot's asking price at £150m.
