Another sporting year is almost over and again it’s been one full of drama and excitement at every turn, but who has had a year they will perhaps want to forget? And who has shown us that good guys still exist?
On the face of it, it hasn’t been a great year in a few sports, football, cycling and athletics to name but three.
But amidst the eye-catching yet often negative headlines which frequently dominate the back pages, look a little further and there have been plenty of heart-warming tales in 2015.

Some sporting joys manifest themselves in a single, fleeting moment, while others come together after months and years of preparation.
Whichever the manner in its origin, a great, unedited and unscripted sporting story can bring people together like no other.
Here’s our roll call for 2015’s good eggs…
Steven Naismith – Arguably the kindest and most charitable man in football. Bought Christmas dinner for hundreds of homeless people in Glasgow.
England Women’s Football Team – The Lionesses captured a nation’s heart like never before with a stunning run to third place in this year’s Women’s World Cup in Canada.
David Beckham – Raised money for charity by hosting seven football matches in seven continents in just 10 days.
Cristiano Ronaldo – Scolded journalists for mocking an Asian child trying to interview the Real Madrid man in broken Portuguese.
Leicester City – For showing us all that even in this modern world, team-spirit and desire can still prevail over money.
Sonny Bill Williams – Handed his Rugby World Cup winners’ medal to a fan celebrating after New Zealand’s victory over Australia in the final at Twickenham.
New South Wales Legends – Aussie rugby league side allowed a lost four-year-old boy looking for his mum to run with the ball and score a try.

And here’s who’s sitting very firmly on the naughty step this Christmas.
A lump of coal and nothing more from Santa this year for this lot…
Sepp Blatter & Michel Platini – We’re saying nothing.
Jose Mourinho – Everybody but Mourinho himself was to blame for Chelsea’s problems this season – allegedly. We doubt he’ll get a Christmas card from Eva Carneiro.
Nick Kyrgios – The tennis upstart caused plenty of petulant mischief on and off the court this year.
Song Tao – Cameraman at the IAAF World Championships. Lost control of his Segway and inadvertently wiped out the world’s most famous athlete, Usain Bolt.
Jack Grealish – Naughty Jack was dropped by Remi Garde for breaching club protocol with a boozy night out.
Craig Joubert – Won’t be receiving any gifts from Scotland this year, or any other year most likely, after his controversial decision in the Rugby World Cup Quarter-Final saw the Tartan Army exit in debatable fashion.
