Wimbledon 2025: Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka odds, preview & prediction
Published:
Wimbledon is now in full swing, and there's a cracking third round tie on Friday between Emma Raducanu and Aryna Sabalenka. Ladbrokes previews the encounter between the British number one and the world number one, with the latest odds and predictions as Raducanu faces her toughest test yet.
Raducanu has looked sharp so far, playing with confidence and freedom, but Sabalenka’s power game will be a major challenge on Centre Court. With some big upsets having taken place in the Ladies' draw, both know a win here leaves them with a good chance of winning the whole tournament.
Wimbledon 2025: Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka Odds, Preview & Prediction
Emma Raducanu faces a huge test in the third round as she takes on world number one Aryna Sabalenka. The Brit has impressed so far this week, backing up her opening win against rising Welsh star Mimi Xu with a composed performance against the 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova to reach this stage.
Sabalenka, meanwhile, has powered through her first two matches in straight sets, showcasing the big-hitting baseline game that has made her such a force on tour. The Belarusian’s aggressive style and relentless ball-striking will be a major challenge for Raducanu, who will need to serve well and take the ball early to keep Sabalenka off balance.
Sabalenka won her first round match at Wimbledon against Carson Branstine 6-1, 7-5 before a slightly trickier encounter against Marie Bouzkova which she eventually won 7-6, 6-4. The world number one saved a break point which would have left Bouzkova serving for the first set.
Raducanu has found her best form for a while and appears comfortable with coach Mark Petchey. The Brit eased past 17-year-old Xu 6-3, 6-3, before winning by the same scoreline, and playing some flamboyant tennis against the former champion Vondrousova, who had been considered a legitimate contender for the title this year.
Raducanu vs Sabalenka head-to-head
H2H - Sabalenka 1-0 Raducanu
These two have met once before, at Indian Wells in 2023, where Sabalenka won in straight sets. The Belarusian comes into this match as the favourite, but Raducanu will believe she can rise to the occasion and produce her best level in front of home fans to pull off an upset on Centre Court.
Raducanu vs Sabalenka prediction
Sabalenka has been dominant so far this year, but Raducanu’s form and relaxed demeanour make her a genuine threat. The Brit will need to serve with confidence and stay aggressive to disrupt Sabalenka’s rhythm. With the home crowd behind her, Raducanu has every chance to make this competitive,
However, Sabalenka’s explosive groundstrokes and ability to dictate rallies should just about see her over the line. The world number one was not entirely convincing in the second round, while Raducanu appears liberated in front of the Wimbledon support.
We think the Brit will win a set, but the difference in quality and power will ultimately prove too much, with Sabalenka to emerge victorious in three sets.
Prediction: Sabalenka 2-1 Raducanu
