Women’s Wimbledon final betting tips: Jabeur favourite for glory

Sixth seed Ons Jabeur is in the Wimbledon final for the second successive year and starts as the 4/9 favourite to win Saturday’s clash with Marketa Vondrousova.

Jabeur avenged last year’s final defeat to Elena Rybakina in the quarter-finals and eliminated second seed Aryna Sabalenka in the last four – both from a set down – to secure a place in the championship decider.

Vondrousova ended the whirlwind run of Elena Svitolina to become the first unseeded player since 1963 to reach the showpiece as we look at some of the markets in our women’s Wimbledon final betting tips.

Transformed Jabeur favourite for title

Jabeur admitted that the “old me would have lost that match” following a thrilling 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-3 victory against Sabalenka and is now just one match away from the grand slam she craves the most.

Sabalenka was a point away from going a set and 5-3 up on Centre Court, but a rousing comeback from her opponent ensured the popular Tunisian will be competing for the Venus Rosewater Dish a “different player” from the one that lost 12 months ago.

Jabeur has been receiving help from a mental coach to handle the pressurised moments during matches and said: “I’m working on myself like crazy. You have no idea what I’m doing. Every time there is something, I’m very tough with myself, trying to improve everything. Very impatient sometimes, which is not good.”

Standing in her way is 2019 French Open runner-up Vondrousova who has beaten four seeds en route to the final, including the fourth-ranked Jessica Pegula and she defeated Jabeur twice this year to make it level at 3-3 in the head to head.

Advantage Czech in 2023 match-ups

Vondrousova won a three-setter to oust Jabeur from the second round of the Australian Open in January and less than two months later enjoyed a 7-6 6-4 victory at Indian Wells, so she catches the eye at 17/10 for a maiden grand slam.

However, as the first of our women’s Wimbledon final betting tips we like the 29/20 on a three-set final which would have paid out in two of the last three encounters between the pair.

Despite losing to Vondrousova twice this year, Jabeur definitely has the bit between her teeth as she looks to break her major duck.

The world number six is 3/1 to win in three or it’s 18/5 for either player to win the opening set and lose the match which was the case in Jabeur’s last two matches.

At bigger odds, Jabeur lost the opening set in a tie-break against both Svitolina and Sabalenka, and a third is priced at 10/1.
