Zenit to continue Group G demolition by defeating Anderlecht
Published:Zenit may have already secured their progression to the knockout stages of the Europa League as winners of Group G with two games remaining, but there is no reason they are likely to take it easy at home to Anderlecht.
Things could not get much better for Luciano Spalletti as Zenit were recently crowned as the Russian champions and they have won all four of their Group G games to date, including the away fixture in Belgium against Anderlecht.
With the chance to maintain their 100 per cent record at stake, Zenit are too big at 19/20 to beat Anderlecht, even more so as they have won both of their previous games at the Petrovski Stadion against Belgian opposition without conceding a goal.
Anderlecht have also not won in three European away fixtures, but will feel they need a result in Russia to keep alive their chances of joining Zenit in the last 32 of the Europa League.
They are 11/4 to beat Zenit and retain second spot in the group.
Hajduk Split tend to be reasonably good at home in Europe and they should be fancied to beat AEK Athens in the other Group G clash, which is a result that would see any hopes the visitors had of qualification in the competition end.
A defeat for either team would mean they would be unable to progress any further, while a draw would not really help either as they both battle with Anderlecht for the second spot.
Hajduk had won three home European games in succession before losing to Zenit in their last outing and 11/8 is a good price that they can make amends for the defeat they endured in Greece in their previous group game with AEK.
AEK Athens are 15/8 and the draw can be backed at 12/5.
