2020 US Masters: Who are the favourites at Augusta National?

It’s one of the standout tournaments in the golfing calendar with 92 players teeing off at Augusta National on Thursday for the 2020 US Masters. But the question is; Who will claim the iconic green jacket?
The date may have changed, but the venue hasn’t. There is something magical about Augusta it’s undulating greens, glorious fauna and towering pines which are home to some of the most iconic holes in golf.
We take a look at the 2020 US Masters field as some of the biggest names look to hole a major performance across four rounds. Will we have a first-time winner? Or will one of the favourites conquer Augusta?
US Masters Favourite
US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is the name on everyone’s lips and he is currently 15/2 favourite in Georgia.
The American has undergone a remarkable physical transformation, reinventing his game to devastating effect with his booming drives and intricate short game.
DeChambeau’s best finish at the Masters (T21) came when he was still an amateur, but given his recent form and aggressive style of play, many will see him as the man to beat this week as he goes in search of back-to-back majors.
He is the longest driver on the PGA Tour, averaging 344 yards, and the absence of spectators lining the fairways could act in his favour when opening better angles to the green.
US Masters Form Pick
World number one Dustin Johnson (8/1) will be refreshed heading into Augusta this week and will be spurned on by his performance last year, finishing T2 behind Tiger Woods.
The FedEx Cup winner has also secured five successive top six finishes and will hope to be in contention this week.
Spain’s Jon Rahm will also be in with a shout of claiming the green jacket. Rahm is 9/1 to win at Augusta and is 5/2 to finish as the top European.
Since golf resumed, Rahm has notched up two tournament wins and finished a close second in his final warm-up event. Could Rahm deliver at Augusta? He’ll be hoping to improve on his best US Masters performance of 4th in 2018.
Justin Thomas (11/1) has not yet finished in the top ten at the US Masters, although he has improved each year he’s been and never missed a cut. His strong iron game could easily put him in contention.
US Masters Each-way Pick
How can we not consider the 2019 champion? Tiger Woods (40/1) will be trying to win a sixth green jacket and a 16th major title. However, his recent form isn’t great having missed the cut at Winged Foot and finished T72 at the Zozo Championship last month. Could there be some Tiger magic this weekend?
Xander Schauffele is priced at 14/1 to win outright and 3/1 for a top five finish. The world number seven could be a decent each-way shot at the 2020 US Masters.
Schauffele finished tied second last year alongside Dustin Johnson. Could he go one-step better this year?
Brooks Koepka was one stroke away from winning a green jacket in 2019. Unfortunately, the last 18 months have not gone to plan with recent injury woes.
He does have a top 30 and a top 10 in his last two starts heading into this week, and with four majors already to his name, he’s 16/1 to win the tournament.
Jason Day (33/1) is expected to give a strong showing having had three top five finishes at the course. He’s been in the top 10 at a major in seven of the last eight years.
Flying the Flag
Rory McIlroy will head down Magnolia Lane toward the first tee at 12/1 odds to complete a career grand slam.
The Northern Irishman hasn’t won a major in six years and hasn’t fared better than fourth at Augusta, following a final round collapse in 2011.
McIlroy could make history this week and join golfing legends like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in an elite list of names to have won all four major championships. He’s 11/5 to finish the top Great Britain and Ireland player at the 2020 US Masters.
Tyrrell Hatton (25/1) is playing some of the best golf of his life right now. A winner earlier in the year at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Hatton is 11/4 to be the best of the English players.
Further back in the field are Tommy Fleetwood (40/1), Justin Rose (50/1) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (60/1). Fleetwood and Rose have both struggled for form and Fitzpatrick’s only top 10 at a major came at the 2016 Masters.
