High-scoring Crewe next challenge for out of form Torquay

Published:

Torquay are in the midst of a horrid stretch of form in League Two and this run seems unlikely to end against Crewe, who have been scoring for fun this season.

Crewe have scored 22 goals in their ten League Two outings and this includes nine strikes in their last two games.

They are 5/4 to beat Torquay and one of the biggest dilemmas facing Dario Gradi is which pairing to select in attack.

Shaun Miller, AJ Leitch-Smith, Joel Grant and Clayton Donaldson are all pushing to start, with Miller their current top League Two scorer with five goals.

However, Lee Bell has scored in both of the last two games and may be a wise bet at 16/1 to break the deadlock.

Meanwhile, Torquay are without a win in their seven league games since August and this form has seen them slip from top spot to outside the play-off places.

They are 2/1 to beat Crewe, although three of the last four clashes between the pair have ended in draws.

Morecambe are still waiting for their first home win and they will hope to end this streak against high-flying Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury have not won at Morecambe in their three previous visits in League Two, with two of these games ending 1-1.

Morecambe have also drawn four of their five games at Globe Arena, with odds of 12/5 available on the points being shared.

Sammy McIlroy’s team are 17/10 to beat Shrewsbury, with the visitors 6/4 to claim a first victory in five games.

Those interested in the correct score market may fancy backing another 1-1 draw, which is available at 11/2.

Jake Robinson has already scored seven League Two goals this season and he is 6/1 to open the scoring for Shrewsbury.

There has been under 2.5 goals in five of the six meetings between the pair in League Two. See the complete Morecambe vs Shrewsbury match betting odds market.
