Lowe and Le Fondre continue their assault on scoring charts

It’s no surprise that Rotherham and Bury are challenging at the top of League Two considering the form of their two main strikers, Adam Le Fondre and Ryan Lowe.

Both players have been in sensational scoring form this season, scoring 10 goals in their opening 12 League Two games, but Le Fondre continues to be as short as 7/4 considering his antics last season.

Le Fondre managed 25 goals in his 44 league appearances in his first year in a Rotherham shirt last season, and his current form suggests he may improve on that tally this season.

But the League Two topscorer award isn’t a foregone conclusion with Bury’s Ryan Lowe matching Le Fondre blow for blow so far this season.

Lowe also has 10 goals in his 12 league starts and is already halfway to beating his tally of 18 for last season.

Its last season’s tally that sees Lowe as long as 6/1 to be the league’s top scorer, and it is believed that Lowe won’t be able to continue in the same vein for the whole season.

But Bury have improved from last season and manager Alan Knill will be targeting a play-off place with possible ambitions of automatic promotion.

Bury have been cut to 10/1 to win League Two after being 14/1 just last week, and with ¼ odds offered on a top three place, an each way bet on Bury could prove profitable come the end of the season.

Meanwhile Lowe will be targeting the up-coming games against Southend and Aldershot, two sides that have conceded 27 goals between them, as games in which he can improve his tally for the season.

Le Fondre’s Rotherham face a tricky tie with Wycombe before heading to Southend as they continue their promotion push.

Chesterfield have been made 9/2 favourites to win League Two after going top on Saturday. See the full League Two football betting odds market here.
