Bet on Ding Junhui vs Graeme Dott – Underdog to prevail again

The first of the second round matches in the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters was pencilled in to be a repeat of the UK Championship final.

John Higgins and Mark Williams were set to renew their rivalry with the winner being touted as the potential tournament champion.

But after the underdog story that has been the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters, Ding Junhui will take on Graeme Dott for a place in the third round.

And Dott, who was as big as 7/4 to beat Higgins in the first round, can spring another surprise and is 11/10 to knock out his Chinese opponent.

Since winning the World Championships in 2006, Dott has struggled with form, his private life and worst of all depression.

But 2010 saw Dott make a remarkable comeback to the snooker table, reaching the final of the World Championships and rising in the world rankings from 28 from 13, and the Scotsman looks back to his impervious best after defeating Higgins.

Ding is the 9/2 second favourite for the competition behind Neil Robertson (3/1) and is 4/6 to beat Dott on Thursday afternoon.

On his day, Ding is one of the most feared players at the snooker table and this match will go to the wire, but Dott can just edge out Ding and is 13/2 to win 6-5.

The two have met on two occasions previously, winning one match each, but the last of these was in 2007 and a lot has changed since then so the head-to-head record between the two doesn’t give us much to go on.

Dott was the only one of the two players to make a century break in the first round and the Scotsman is 10/1 to make 2 centuries against Ding and is also 3/1 to win the match by 1-2 frames.

A £25 stake Dott making three or more centuries would return £1025. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
