Chisora vows to KO Klitschko
Published:Dereck Chisora definitely has no confidence issues now that his heavyweight title fight with Wladimir Klitschko is back on and he is reiterating his belief that he will knockout the reigning champion.
Chisora is 6/1 in the boxing betting to become the new WBO and IBF heavyweight champion and inflict just a fourth loss on Klitschko in his 59th career fight and a first defeat since 2004.
And Chisora is not only promising that he will become Britain’s second reigning heavyweight champion, but he is also promising to do it inside of the 12 rounds.
He said: “I’ve seen so many weaknesses in Klitschko, and you’ll see when I KO him.”
Meanwhile, Chisora’s promoter Frank Warren added: “People think it’s a mismatch, but Dereck believes in himself and he could create a shock. Since 2006, who has he really fought? The key is to take the fight to him.”
Chisora is 10/1 in the boxing odds to beat Klitschko by knockout and he may be even keener to do so after his first proposed fight against the Ukrainian in December was called off.
Klitschko pulled out of the fight late on, citing an abdominal injury and it was touch and go whether he would re-agree terms with Chisora or attempt to seal a more profitable fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye.
However, there is a massive gulf in class between the pair and if Chisora does claim a surprise victory, it will match the ultimate shocks in the past which include Leon Spinks beating Muhammed Ali and Buster Douglas stopping Mike Tyson.
Klitschko is 1/12 to beat Chisora in the boxing betting and 2/7 to retain his title by knockout.
