Giant killers have the confidence to upset the League Two leaders

Rotherham may have failed to close the gap on Chesterfield when they drew 3-3 with Stockport in midweek, but the Millers can take advantage of any Chesterfield slip-up this weekend.

Chesterfield vs Stevenage Borough

Fresh off their giant killing exploits in the FA Cup, Stevenage are a team brimming with confidence after knocking out Newcastle United and they are 13/5 to upset the League Two leaders on Saturday.

Chesterfield have been dominant in League Two this season and are four points clear at the top of the league, but their betting odds of 5/6 to beat Stevenage suggest this will be a very tight game.

The two sides have only ever met once before and this ended in a 0-0 stalemate earlier in the season at Steveage’s Broadhall Way – a repeat of that 0-0 draw is priced at a very tempting 9/1.

However Chesterfield are the league’s top scorers at home, averaging almost three goals a game compared to Stevenage’s one goal a game, and a 3-1 win for Chesterfield is the best bet at 11/1.

Rotherham United vs Southend United

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore was furious with his defence after the midweek draw and it will need to improve if they are to justify their League Two odds of 4/5 to beat Southend.

Southend are unbeaten against Rotherham this millennium and while they are taking on the league’s third most in-form team, they hold a big psychological advantage over their rivals and are the pick of this weekend’s markets at 7/2 to beat Rotherham.

It finished 1-0 to Southend earlier in the season but with Adam Le Fondre on the pitch, a Southend clean sheet seems unlikely and a 2-1 win for Southend, priced at 14/1, is the pick of the value in League Two this weekend.

A £25 stake on Chesterfield and Southend winning would return £206.25. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
