Back Man Utd for the league title after Drogba admits defeat

Punters should look no further than Manchester United or Arsenal for the Premier League title after Chelsea’s Didier Drogba conceded defeat.

Chelsea are out to 8/1 to win the Premier League following their defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last Sunday, and Drogba says the defeat has: “cut away our legs and jeopardised our chances of winning the league title once more.”

Man United are in pole position in the Premier League winners betting market at 8/13 to win the league, and Drogba believes Man Utd are the team to catch.

“It’s going to be difficult for us to catch up with Manchester United.”

“I’m finding our bad spell hard to live with, as do the rest of the squad.

“Our league position is similar to what it was last season, but absences, and the fact that we’ve not been scoring as many goals, have made for a bad mood around the place.”

Drogba’s revelations suggest that it is now a two-horse race between Man Utd and Arsenal for the Premier League title, and Arsene Wenger’s side are available at 5/2 to win the league.

Drogba has just 10 goals to his name this season – nine in the Premier League – and is 10 goals adrift of Dimitar Berbatov at the top of the Premier League top goalscorer charts.

Carlos Tevez is just one goal behind Berbatov with 18 league goals this season, and the betting can’t split the two players who are both priced at 10/11 to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

Drogba’s revelations have led to his former club Marseille stepping up their bid to sign the striker, and the French club are willing to offer a reported £5m-a-year.

A £25 stake on Dimitar Berbatov ending the season as top scorer would return £47.73. New customers can sign up here for a free Premier League bet worth £25.
