Bet on two colossal ties in League Two this weekend

Published:

It’s a huge weekend in League Two and while the out-of-sorts Chesterfield maintain a strong lead at the top, four of the teams around them face off in what is sure to affect the promotion odds.

Chesterfield travel to Lincoln, a side racing up the League Two table, and while the Spireites are the 6/4 favourites to win, they are winless in five and Lincoln have won six of their last eight games.

At 7/4, Lincoln offer plenty of value as the home team and can provide some hope to the teams chasing Chesterfield at the top of the table.

Rotherham United vs Shrewsbury Town

Third takes on second and while Rotherham ended their slump with a 2-0 win against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday, Shrewsbury are bang in form and a huge price at 15/8 considering they are unbeaten in six against Rotherham.

While it may be a titanic battle for the automatic promotion spots in League Two, historically this game has never provided many goals with just one of the seven League Two clashes between the two producing over 2.5 goals.

Under 2.5 goals is available at 5/6 and with Shrewsbury striker Jon Taylor in such good form – four goals in four starts – the 12/1 for Taylor to get the first goal is a huge price, as is the 11/1 for a 2-0 Shrewsbury win.

Gillingham vs Bury

Gillingham’s (13/10 to beat Bury) remarkable run has slowed in recent weeks with a number of draws, and the draw (12/5) looks on the cards when high-flying Bury visit Priestfield on Saturday.

Like Shrewsbury, Bury (2/1) are bang in form, but Gillingham have lost just two of their last 15 and when two teams so high in confidence meet, they usually cancel each other out.

Despite a 0-0 at Priestfield in the 08/09 season, this game has produced 13 goals in 3 games and backing over 2.5 goals at 20/21 is the pick of the maket.

A £25 double on Lincoln and Shrewsbury would return £197.50. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
