Spurs 14/1 in Champions League betting after San Siro win

Tottenham are now 14/1 in the Champions League betting after taking a massive stride towards the quarter finals of the tournament with a richly deserved 1-0 win in the San Siro against AC Milan.

Spurs were 4/1 to leave Italy with the three points prior to the game and would have gratefully taken a draw before kick-off, ahead of the second leg at White Hart Lane.

However, Spurs are now on course to become the third English team to eliminate Milan from the tournament in four seasons, thanks to Peter Crouch’s late goal.

Meanwhile, it has been in the last 16 that Milan have suffered these victories as they lost to Manchester United last season and Arsenal three campaigns ago.

The omens do also not look good for Milan as they failed to score, let alone win, in either of their trips to England in these games.

Milan are now 40/1 to win the Champions League and realistically need to score at least twice at White Hart Lane if they harbour hopes of remaining in the competition.

This is because Tottenham are liable to score at home to continue their run of scoring in every Champions League this season and are currently the top scorers in the tournament.

Furthermore, the result will help banish some of the negative memories that Tottenham accrued at the San Siro earlier this season against Inter Milan.

Spurs found themselves 4-0 down after just 35 minutes, although they did make a brave attempt to fight back before eventually succumbing to a 4-3 defeat.

Heurelho Gomes was sent off in the early stages of this defeat, but will be particularly pleased with his return as important saves to deny Mario Yepes on two occasions were pivotal to ensure Tottenham claimed their advantage.

A £25 stake on Spurs winning the Champions League would return £350. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
