The latest Jurgen Klopp odds from Ladbrokes have the current Liverpool manager, who is leaving at the end of the season, 5/1 to be appointed as Real Madrid’s next boss.

In January, the footballing world was shocked by the announcement that Klopp will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, stating in an interview that he feels he needs a rest and is running out of energy.

Klopp is set for a prolonged break from football, at least until the end of the 2024/25 season. However, could the Real Madrid job be waiting for him when he’s ready to return to football? Ladbrokes looks at the chances.

Jurgen Klopp odds

As noted, Klopp has said that he’ll be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and immediately taking a break from football, ruling himself out of the race for any managerial post that may be made vacant this summer.

The German would have otherwise been in the running for both the Barcelona and Bayern Munich jobs this summer, given that Xavi and Thomas Tuchel are stepping down this summer. However, Klopp has made it very clear that he won’t be joining another club this year.

The theory many people have is that Klopp is waiting for the German national team job, which he could step into in either 2025 or coming out of the 2026 World Cup. However, perhaps the 2019 Champions League winner is instead set for another prestigious post soon.

Ladbrokes currently has Klopp at 5/1 to take over at Real Madrid and become the 14-time Champions League winners next manager. There’s no timeframe on the potential move, but with Carlo Ancelotti likely to step-down in 2025, the timeline could work with Klopp’s proposed sabbatical from football.

Anfield

The bet is interesting considering that many fans, upon the news that Xabi Alonso had taken himself out of the running for the Liverpool manager’s job, assumed that the former Real Madrid midfielder was waiting to be appointed the manager of Los Blancos next year.

At the time of writing, Ruben Amorim is the heavy favourite to take over from Klopp and become Liverpool’s next manager. The current Sporting Lisbon coach is expected to win this year’s Liga Nos title, before becoming manager at Anfield, with odds of 1/6.

Before he does leave Anfield, Klopp could find himself as a two-time Premier League winner, with the Reds’ boss is 9/4 to win the league this season. Going into the quarter-finals, Liverpool were also the the odds-on favourite (10/11) to win the Europa League, the only competition he’s entered that he hasn’t won whilst Liverpool manager. However, following a shock loss to Atalanta, Liverpool’s Europa League dreams are in the balance, with the side now 10/1 to win the competition. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are seen as one of the favourites for this year’s Champions League.
