Midnight Chase best of the Gold Cup underdogs

Midnight Chase’s betting odds are 12/1 to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup and is somewhat of a course specialist as he has never finished out of the first three at the circuit.
Furthermore, he has won on each of his last four Cheltenham appearances, including when showing commendable battling qualities to win on his latest start in December.
Being tough and consistent are fine traits to have in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and although the horse is yet to prove he is top class, there is certainly enough to like about the horse to see him running into the places at worst.
One question mark aimed at Midnight Chase is that he likes to take the bull by the horns and with the likes of Denman and Carruthers also in the field, he is unlikely to be handed an easy lead.
Kempes is much more at home sitting off the pace and has been the subject of much each-way support ahead of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, being backed into 8/1.
He is joined by fellow Irish challenger Pandorama and it remains to be seen if the Cheltenham rain has come early enough to provide the softer surface that he would prefer.
If conditions do soften then Pandorama has a leading each-way chance at 12/1.
Further down the Cheltenham Gold Cup betting, Tidal Bay tends to do most of his best work late on and if he is near enough rounding the final bend then he will certainly be staying on.
Tidal Bay is a 20/1 shot and much will depend on which mood he turns up at Cheltenham in.
