6/4 that Bolton are celebrating a weekend double KO

A big weekend for Bolton beckons and there is a strong possibility that the town will be celebrating the double of their football team reaching the FA Cup final and Amir Khan successfully defending his WBA light welterweight title.

Ladbrokes are offering odds of 6/4 that Khan stops Paul McCloskey in their fight in Manchester on Saturday and then Bolton complete the double by winning their FA Cup semi final with Stoke on Sunday at Wembley.

Khan should have little trouble completing the first part of the deal and is 1/10 to make a successful fourth defence of his belt against McCloskey

The Bolton boxer should prove a level above the unbeaten Irishman and appears to have an obvious advantage in terms of speed and agility.

Meanwhile, it is 4/11 in the boxing betting that Khan triumphs by KO, TKO or disqualification, which is the way that Khan has to win in terms of the double special.

The other way that Khan could win which would cause a losing double bet is by decision and this is priced at 10/3.

If Khan does secure his knockout victory then the pressure moves to Wembley where Bolton will be hoping to prevent Stoke reaching their first FA Cup final.

It is 7/5 in the FA Cup betting that Bolton beat Stoke in 90 minutes and 8/11 that they simply qualify for the final, which also includes the possibility of a win in extra time or on penalties.

Bolton striker Kevin Davies is gutted that the two events have clashed on the same weekend and is still hoping to watch the fight, even though he has had to give up his ringside seat at Manchester’s MEN Arena.

According to the Mirror, Davies said: “We’re trying to set up a big screen at our hotel on Saturday night so we can all sit down and watch it and it’s not on too late.

“It’s a massive weekend for Bolton and hopefully we’ll both come out of it smiling.”

A £30 stake on Khan stopping McCloskey in the first round would return £480. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
