Three teams odds-on for relegation as frantic final day beckons

With five teams still capable of filling the two remaining relegation places, the final day of the Premier League season is sure to be exciting and Blackpool and Birmingham look the pair that should be most nervous about facing the drop.

Not since the end of the 2005 Premier League season has there been such excitement at the foot of the table on the final day as on that occasion West Brom survived despite being rock bottom with one fixture remaining.

West Ham may already be relegated this season, but with just a single point separating the five clubs above them, there are sure to be many twists and turns come the final day of the campaign.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, the two teams in the relegation places will be constantly changing with every goal scored and three of these five clubs are currently odds-on to go down.

Blackpool are the favourites in the Premier League odds to go down at 2/7 and this seems logical given they are third bottom at present and are away to Manchester United last.

Birmingham are 8/13 to face the drop and simply need to match the results of Blackpool and 19th-placed Wigan to survive.

However, Birmingham are away at Tottenham and will not have things easy as Spurs need a result to secure fifth spot and ensure European football next season.

Wigan are also away at Stoke and probably have the best chance of the three to gain a result, particularly as the Potters may still be suffering from an FA Cup hangover.

It is 8/11 that Wigan go down.

Wolves and Blackburn are both 8/1 to be relegated and could still mathematically finish in the bottom three if the aforementioned trio all win or draw.

The pair face each other on the final day knowing that a victory would guarantee their safety.

A £30 stake on Blackburn going down would return £240. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
