Pick of the Pundits: Miss Rosie can rumble rivals at Kempton

Published:

Horse racing took a bit of a back seat over the weekend with the start of the football season dominating people’s bets, but there are five cards to study today compared to the one Premier League match.

It’s tough to see Manchester City overturning Swansea City at the Etihaad Stadium tonight but while Mancini’s men look shoe-ins to register the first home win of the season, we’re concentrating on the all-weather action at Kempton.

Both Kevin Walsh of the Irish Post and The North of the Racing Post are names that crop up on numerous occasions in the Pick of the Pundits, and today they are in agreement about the 15:30 at Kempton.

Both are on a three-nap losing streak but are returning a solid return for your £1 stake this season and their consistency is the reason why Miss Rosie stands out today.

15:30 Kempton: Miss Rosie – 9/4

The withdrawals of Casa Bex and Two Bridges have reduced the original 12-runner field to 10 for this Class 5 Nursery today, and Miss Rosie can take full advantage in their absence.

Miss Rosie is the only horse in the field who can boast a win to her name following victory at Beverly in early July, and she can take that form into today’s race.

De Sousa was the star aboard Miss Rosie at Beveley, saving enough to see his mount rally despite being headed in the final furlong and the man who is bang in form is sure to attract plenty of money today.

This will be Miss Rosie’s third career start and it’s likely she will have started favourite for all three races, and having justified favouritism last time out, there will be plenty expecting her to do so again.

This is a furlong longer than her win at Beverley but her time was strong and any the trip shouldn’t worry punters and neither should the opposition.
