The Safety Net: Eastern Breeze can glide to target at Windsor

Published:

The Safety Net took a bit of a blow last week with two consecutive defeats but Jo- Wilfried Tsonga got us back to winning ways on Friday.

The Frenchman dominated Nicolas Almagro winning in straight sets to take the Safety Net bank up to £359, and Tsonga can spark a new winning run.

Today we’re changing tack and turning out attentions to the horse racing at Windsor as we search for today’s £20 target and Eastern Breeze can do so in the six-runner Class 5 Maiden Stakes at 19:40.

Eastern Breeze is bidding to become the fifth winning favourite in six starts and will start the race at short odds-on to win.

She’s 2/7 at the moment so we’ll be staking £70 of our £359 bank to win our £20 target, and considering two of those four favourites were odds on, we’re confident of victory today.

The Godolphin horse will be ridden by Frankie Dettori and following his second at Pontefract towards the end of July, Eastern Breeze boasts the best form in the race.

Saeed Bin Suroor has a 19% strike rate in this last 14 days and Dettori has a remarkable 37% strike rate in the last 14 days with 7 winners from 19 rides.

Russian Affair is the closest in the betting to Eastern Breeze at 6/1 but his only career start came last November on the all weather at Kempton in which he finished ninth out of 11.

There is very little strength in depth in this six runner field and Eastern Breeze should have no problems registering her first career win.

Current Status
Bank: £359
Today’s stake: £70
Best case scenario: £379
Worst case scenario: £289

Last Safety Net bet: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Nicolas Almagro @ 2/7

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
