Manchester City face tough task against bogey team Everton

The differences between Everton and Manchester City couldn’t be more pronounced.

While City continue to splash the cash, buying up some of the most exciting talent in world football, Everton are in a precarious financial situation and are currently 14/1 to get relegated.

However, on the pitch things are rather closer.

City have had a brilliant start to their season, dropping just two points in their opening five games.

Everton have been quietly ticking along very nicely as well though, and have now gone five games without defeat since their opening 1-0 loss against Queens Park Rangers.

That in itself makes Everton a very promising bet to beat City at 13/2, but it becomes even more tempting when you look at their head-to-head record.

You have to go back to 2007 to find the last time City beat Everton at home and Man City have lost seven of their previous eight games against the Toffees and have shipped two goals in each of their previous four meetings.

Meanwhile, Everton only lost two of their six away games against teams who finished above them in the league last season – and they were narrow 1-0 and 2-1 defeats at Old Trafford and the Emirates respectively.

City’s second-half capitulation against Fulham at the weekend showed there are a few cracks in their team and Everton may be a good bet to take advantage at 13/2.
