Wolves vs QPR: Goal-shy Hoops set for more frustration

| 17.09.2011

Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Queens Park Rangers to Molineux this Saturday and should definitely get something out of the game.

QPR were hugely impressive for long periods in their draw with Newcastle United last Monday but were ultimately unable to break through the resilient Magpies defence.

They will find things similarly tricky against Wolves this weekend…

Match odds

Wolves opened their season with solid wins against Blackburn Rovers and Fulham before getting a hard-earned away draw at Aston Villa.

The wheels came off somewhat last week with a 2-0 home defeat against Tottenham Hotspur but they will expect to win this clash at 10/11.

Wolves haven’t lost consecutive home games in the league since November last year and, despite running away with the Championship last term, QPR won just three away games against sides who finished in the top half of the table.

Neil Warnock’s QPR are out at 3/1 to get a victory after a fairly disappointing start to the season that’s seen them pick up just one win in their opening four matches.

Goal markets

QPR’s lack of goals has been the one surprising thing about their campaign so far this season – they haven’t scored since their opening 1-0 win against Everton.

Meanwhile, Wolves have failed to find the net in two of their first four clashes and currently average a goal per game, while just one of their games so far this season has yielded more than two goals – the same as QPR.

Everything points to this being a tight game, so backing under 2.5 goals at 4/6 is well worth considering.
