All about Adebayor as he is ready to celebrate against Arsenal again

Published:

Of all of the events that live in the memory of Arsenal fans, Emmanuel Adebayor running the length of the field and sliding in front of them after he scored for Manchester City is surely towards the top of their most hated list.

This celebration has ensured that Adebayor is public enemy number one among Arsenal fans for life and he could cause further outrage by netting against them again for bitter North London rivals Tottenham.

Adebayor has begun life at Spurs in flying colours, with three goals in his first three Premier League appearances, which has helped the club improve on their dismal start to sit sixth in the standings.

Furthermore, all of Adebayor’s three games at Tottenham have led to victories and it is 5/4 in the Premier League odds this run continues against Arsenal.

However, much of the football betting around the derby at White Hart Lane will revolve around whether the Togo striker will score against his former club again.

Adebayor’s aforementioned goal for Manchester City remains his only one against the Gunners in three previous appearances, but he is 6/4 to find the net at any time this year.

Looking back he did score six goals in seven North London derbies from his time at Arsenal.

Logic would suggest that Adebayor would not be so hectic with his celebrations this time to tone down any abuse.

But as he still attempts to win over the Tottenham fans, the 3/1 that he kisses the badge on his shirt after scoring could prove good value.

There is hope for Arsenal that Adebayor may impact the game for the wrong reasons and he is 5/2 to get booked and 25/1 to get sent off.

If the latter occurs, Arsenal’s chances of victory would be drastically improved and Arsene Wenger’s team are 9/4 to triumph, although they have won none of the last four meetings between the pair.
